MH WellFest Cambodia Will Bring 14 Malaysian Hospitals to Phnom Penh
Let’s explore this page together
Fourteen hospitals are due to join the two-day event
The event was announced on 23 September by Maybank (Cambodia) Plc. and the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council, or MHTC. It is scheduled for 3 and 4 October 2026 at Borey Peng Huoth Eco Park and is endorsed by the Embassy of Malaysia in Phnom Penh.
Organisers say visitors will be able to meet representatives from 14 MHTC member hospitals and learn about specialist services, preventive care, health-check programmes, treatment pathways and the practical arrangements involved in travelling to Malaysia for care. Health talks and family-oriented activities are also part of the programme.
For Cambodia-based families already considering treatment abroad, the event creates a chance to compare several providers without first travelling to Malaysia. It does not, however, establish that any particular hospital or treatment is suitable for an individual patient.
For practical context, see Cambodia market and country comparisons. This development also connects with Luang Mè Hospital inaugurated after two years of operation.
Specialist consultations will be available by appointment
The announcement says the Wellness Discovery Hub will include personal consultations with Malaysian specialists, available by appointment. Those conversations can help visitors understand possible next steps, but the event itself should not be treated as a substitute for a full clinical assessment or a final treatment plan.
The organisers have not provided a basis for assuming that consultations, tests or subsequent treatment are free. Maybank also plans to present payment, insurance and financing options connected with cross-border care, but eligibility, pricing and coverage will depend on the terms of each product.
Families can use the event to prepare for a more detailed follow-up
A useful outcome for someone already exploring Malaysian healthcare would be a shortlist of hospitals and a clearer understanding of what records are required for a proper case review. Bringing existing medical reports and a focused list of questions may make the first conversation more productive.
Any treatment estimate, timetable or insurance indication obtained around the event should still be confirmed in writing before travel or payment. Clinical suitability depends on the patient's medical situation, while insurance coverage depends on the specific policy and insurer decision.
