Cambodia passes one million tonnes of milled rice exports before year-end
An October milestone measured against a full calendar year
Official shipments reached 1,014,442 tonnes by 19 October 2026. AKP and Kampuchea Thmey reported the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries figures on 20 October.
The previous full-year total was 940,321 tonnes in 2025, according to Cambodia Rice Federation data published by AKP on 5 January. This puts the latest cumulative figure 74,121 tonnes above last year's total.
That comparison establishes the scale of the milestone. It does not provide a growth rate for matching periods: that would require the figure for the same January-to-19-October period in 2025. The final 2026 total remains to be established.
For practical context, see Cambodia market and country comparisons. This development also connects with Cambodia rice exports reached $327m in January-May 2026.
The figure covers processed rice, with paddy counted separately
Milled rice and unprocessed paddy are separate export categories. Keeping them apart matters when assessing how much trade involves rice processed before shipment and how much involves raw grain.
For businesses following the sector, tonnage is only one measure of performance. Export earnings for the same reporting period, together with the mix of rice sold, would give a clearer picture of the commercial result. Farmers' incomes also depend on the prices they receive and their production costs. A record shipment volume cannot establish whether those incomes have increased.
