Toyota Tsusho outlines late-2026 launch for automotive skills courses in Cambodia
A launch window follows the March training agreement
The company discussed its training plans with Cambodia's Investment Board, part of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), on October 16. At the meeting, its representatives described a proposed technical skills centre for the automotive industry and said courses would begin towards the end of 2026 in collaboration with the JVC Technical Institute.
The partnership was not announced for the first time in October. Cambodia's Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training reported on March 25 that Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia), Toyota (Cambodia) and JVC had agreed to establish a joint Toyota training centre. What the latest announcement adds is a target period for the first courses. It does not establish that the centre is already operating.

Students outside the company are part of the plan
According to the Cambodian News Agency (AKP), the proposed centre is designed to serve the wider Cambodian public as well as Toyota Tsusho's own workforce. This could create another training option for people exploring automotive trades or looking to develop industry-specific skills.
The October meeting also covered the development of vehicle assembly in Cambodia, investment incentives and the use of locally sourced materials for components. Those discussions help explain the industrial backdrop, although the organisers have not said which specialisms or practical modules the new courses will cover.
Prospective applicants still need admission details
There is no published enrolment opening date or class timetable in the October 16 report. Fees, capacity, entry criteria, course duration, teaching language and the qualification available on completion are likewise unspecified. While the programme is described as serving the Cambodian public, eligibility for foreign residents has not been established. The venue for these particular courses has not been confirmed either.
For now, the announcement signals a possible training opportunity; it is not an offer of a place. Applicants will need the organisers' eventual course notice before comparing it with other education or employment plans. No job placement guarantee has been announced.
