Norea International School is now open on Koh Pich

The school is operating at The Élysée

OCIC’s original February plan was a soft launch on Koh Pich, initially covering Grades 1–5. Norea International School later set 24 August as the first day of school, and OCIC’s September update confirmed that the school had officially opened at The Élysée.

The live admissions offer has already moved beyond the first phase. Current school information lists enrolment for Years 1–6, including applications during the academic year subject to space and grade requirements. NIS has also announced Nursery and Reception for children aged 3–4, with those Early Years programmes due to begin in October 2026.

The school says its primary programme combines the International Primary Curriculum with Cambridge Primary standards, alongside pathways covering Khmer studies, Khmer culture and heritage, modern foreign languages and creative arts. Those details describe the programme offered by the school; they should not be read as an independent ranking or assessment of teaching quality.

Why the location matters for families

A family living on Koh Pich, or considering nearby parts of central Phnom Penh, can now include NIS in a real school commute rather than in a future development plan. That may affect the shortlist of neighbourhoods when school travel is one of the main constraints on housing.

The important distinction is that students currently attend The Élysée on Koh Pich. The permanent Norea City campus is not yet the operating school, so a family moving before that campus opens should calculate daily travel using the existing address.

Opening a new school also does not make one area the right choice for every household. Age group, available places, school hours, fees and the actual journey from a specific home still need to fit the family’s situation, and admissions details can change during the year.

Norea City is the next phase, not the current campus

Groundbreaking for the permanent Norea City campus took place on 1 February 2026. OCIC has described a roughly two-hectare site and a planned opening in the second half of 2027.

Until that move happens, Koh Pich remains the relevant location for day-to-day planning. The Norea City campus can reasonably be treated as part of the area’s future infrastructure, but not as a facility already available to families today.
