VIJIT Thailand 2026 moves through Lamphun, Trang and Roi Et
The programme combines illuminated installations, projection, sound and cultural performances, but the practical details differ by city. For residents, visitors and local businesses, the useful information is the operating window at each venue, not the headline span of 25 September to 18 October.
Lamphun runs first, with Trang and Roi Et following in October
Lamphun’s programme runs in the old town from 25 September to 4 October. A detailed provincial notice lists general display hours of 17:00–22:00, with the first four light-art points remaining open until midnight. The city has also announced free municipal tram service during the event from 18:00 to 23:00 between key stops on the route.
TAT’s central English-language release gives Lamphun a broader 17:00–24:00 operating window. The local notice is more granular, so anyone planning a late visit should use the schedule for the specific installation and not assume every point stays open until midnight.
The other two regional programmes have their own dates and venues:
- Trang — 2–11 October, 17:00–22:00, at Chaloem Phrakiat 95 Public Park in Mueang Trang. - Roi Et — 9–18 October, 17:00–24:00, at Bueng Phlan Chai.
TAT says the regional format is intended to extend evening activity and spread tourism benefits more widely. That is the programme’s stated objective, not evidence that a particular business or district has already recorded higher revenue.
For practical context, see Thailand economy and finance. This development also connects with Thailand's GPO and Sandoz sign agreement on biosimilar access.
The event may change evening footfall without changing the property market
For people living or working near the venues, the immediate effect is likely to be concentrated in a short evening window: more visitors, busier roads and parking, and potentially stronger trade for nearby food, accommodation and transport services. The scale of that effect will depend on actual attendance and cannot be inferred from the announcement alone.
For property buyers, the festival is better treated as a temporary test of how a district functions after dark than as a market indicator. It may reveal something about access, public-space use and local activity, but it does not by itself establish durable housing demand, price growth or rental performance.
