Thailand Privilege Visa: Packages, Costs and Application

What Thailand Privilege Visa Is — and What Changed from Thailand Elite

The naming is confusing because “Thailand Elite” still dominates older articles and search results, while the current programme is marketed as Thailand Privilege Card. For a new applicant, it helps to separate three layers: the paid membership itself, the current tiers — Bronze, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Reserve — and the Privilege Entry (PE) Visa attached to the current visa memberships.

Packages sold before October 2023 are shown by the operator as discontinued for new sales. That matters because older reviews still quote names, prices and benefits from the previous Thailand Elite catalogue. Someone applying in 2026 should compare the current tiers, using “Thailand Elite” only as the former programme name rather than as a live product list.

A five-, ten-, fifteen- or twenty-year membership does not mean a single immigration stamp for that entire period. Current official guidance says a PE Visa holder can receive permission to stay for up to one year per entry, subject to the remaining validity of the passport and visa. A member who remains in Thailand beyond that permission needs an extension before the stamp expires. The date in the passport remains the practical deadline that controls lawful stay.

Administrative support is real, but it does not erase immigration duties. Members staying continuously in Thailand remain subject to 90-day reporting, and the operator explicitly tells members to monitor their own due dates even where Thailand Privilege helps with document handling. The product therefore buys a long membership framework and service support; it does not create an immigration exemption.

Thailand Privilege Packages in 2026: What 5, 10, 15 and 20 Years Cost

As of 22 September 2026, the operator lists five current visa membership tiers. Bronze is THB 650,000 for five years with no annual privilege points. Gold is THB 900,000 for five years with 20 points a year. Platinum costs THB 1,500,000 for ten years with 35 points, Diamond costs THB 2,500,000 for fifteen years with 55 points, and Reserve is THB 5,000,000 for twenty years with 120 points and is invitation only.

An annualised figure makes the commitment easier to compare: roughly THB 130,000 a year for Bronze, THB 180,000 for Gold, THB 150,000 for Platinum, THB 166,667 for Diamond and THB 250,000 for Reserve. Those numbers are simple arithmetic for comparison, not official annual prices and not an instalment schedule. The programme charges membership fees under its own payment terms; dividing by the membership years only helps expose the cost of the time horizon.

That is why the tiers should not be read as a straightforward “more expensive means better value” ladder. Gold buys the same five-year horizon as Bronze, with the difference centred on points and services. Platinum requires a much larger upfront payment but stretches the membership to ten years, so its simple annualised cost is below Gold. Diamond can look efficient over fifteen years, yet that only matters if a fifteen-year Thailand plan is realistic for you.

Reserve sits outside a normal open-market comparison because the operator marks it as invitation only. Bronze is currently labelled as a limited offer, so applicants should confirm that it is still available when they submit. Benefits and redemption options can also change over a long membership period, which makes the legal stay framework and the years you actually expect to use it more durable decision criteria than one particular lifestyle perk.

Who Can Apply and What Is Checked Before Approval

Standard Thailand Privilege membership does not use the salary-style threshold found in some long-stay routes, and current official material does not impose a separate education, investment or mandatory health-insurance test beyond paying for the membership itself. That makes the programme structurally different from visas built around employment, income or a qualifying investment.

Payment alone is not enough. An applicant needs a foreign passport, must remain admissible under Thai immigration rules and must pass background screening before the membership is approved. The programme’s application documents contain disqualifying conditions linked to immigration and legal history, so a paid membership should never be treated as a way around ordinary entry controls.

This is also why “guaranteed visa” is the wrong promise. The THB 50,000 application fee gets the application into the screening process; it does not purchase a positive decision. Previous overstays, deportation or entry restrictions, serious legal issues and other facts relevant to immigration admissibility can change the outcome and may require case-specific review before a relocation date is fixed.

A general guide cannot predict a screening result from a short description of someone’s history. Where the record is complicated, the useful questions are factual — what happened, when, what appears in the passport or official record, and what the current programme terms say on the application date.

How to Apply for Thailand Privilege: Application, Screening and Payment

The process starts with an application, not with paying the full membership price. Current programme material asks for personal details, a passport copy and a photo, with package guidance also referring to sufficient remaining passport validity. The applicant then pays a THB 50,000 application fee and submits proof of payment. The operator states that an incomplete submission without the required payment evidence will not move into background screening.

For an approved applicant, the THB 50,000 is credited toward the membership fee, so it is not simply an extra charge added on top of the advertised tier price. The refund rules are much narrower than many applicants assume. Official payment material ties a refund to an immigration rejection and provides for an administrative deduction; other withdrawal or non-completion scenarios can leave the fee non-refundable. Missing the payment deadline after approval can also mean forfeiting the fee and starting a fresh application.

Screening is the least controllable part of the timetable. Official Thailand Privilege pages describe anything from roughly four to six weeks to around one or two months, while the operator also publishes a separate notice warning of background-check delays. Those figures are useful for planning, but they are not a guaranteed service-level deadline. A move that only works if approval arrives at the fastest quoted time leaves very little margin for a request for documents or a processing backlog.

Once approval is issued, the applicant receives payment instructions for the balance. Membership is confirmed after the required payment is completed, and the PE Visa is then affixed or activated under the procedure that applies to the applicant’s location and current immigration status. That final step is not identical for every case, so current instructions from the operator should take priority over an old online walkthrough.

The application feels lighter than many income- or employment-based visas because there are fewer qualifying financial documents. It is still an immigration-linked process with screening, deadlines and non-trivial amounts at risk. Rechecking the application fee, refund terms and current processing notice immediately before submission is part of sensible planning rather than a formality.

Thailand Privilege Application Timeline

1

Choose a tier and verify the live terms

Compare the term, base fee, Bronze availability, family option and any live promotion on the actual application date.

2

Submit the application and pay THB 50,000

Payment evidence forms part of the application, and the fee is credited toward membership if approval is granted.

3

Complete background screening

Official guidance is measured in weeks, but the operator separately warns of delays; do not build the plan around a guaranteed approval date.

4

Receive approval and pay the balance

Use the deadline stated in the operator’s invoice and instructions. Missing it can put the application fee at risk.

5

Confirm membership and activate the PE Visa

The visa step depends on current status and location, so follow the live instructions issued for the individual case.

Family Membership: Who Can Be Added and What It Costs

Family pricing starts at Platinum, not at the entry-level tiers. Current Next Member terms define immediate family broadly enough to include biological parents and step-parents, a married spouse or qualifying civil-union partner, children and legally adopted children. Supplementary membership is priced separately: the currently published regular rates are THB 1,000,000 for a Platinum Next Member, THB 1,500,000 for Diamond and THB 2,000,000 for Reserve. The relationship has to be supported by the required documents.

That changes the budget more than the headline card price suggests. A couple can easily read “THB 1.5 million for Platinum” as the cost of a shared ten-year solution, but an additional member is charged separately. For a family of three or four, the gap between the core membership price and the total family cost can be large enough to justify comparing different visa routes for different family members.

Official Thailand Privilege pages in September 2026 show both the regular Next Member schedule and a temporary family promotion at a different figure. Treating the promotional number as a permanent tariff would therefore be misleading. The safer planning approach is to budget from the regular schedule and only apply a promotion once its price, eligible tier and family scope have been confirmed for the application date.

Cost is not the only family variable. If one adult needs local work rights, a child needs a different education-linked status, or family members expect very different lengths of stay, a single membership strategy may be less straightforward than the phrase “family membership” suggests.

Can You Work on Thailand Privilege, and What Restrictions Remain?

Standard Thailand Privilege membership does not automatically authorise work in Thailand. Paying for Bronze, Gold, Platinum, Diamond or Reserve does not turn the PE Visa into a work permit, nor does it replace the separate legal basis required for employment. If local work is a core reason for the move, the length of the membership is not enough to judge whether the programme fits.

The operator also describes Flexible Plus, but that should not be presented as a built-in right available to every member. It is a separate route for qualifying participants, with additional conditions including a substantial investment requirement and further immigration or work-authorisation steps. Its existence does not change the default rule for ordinary membership.

“Privilege” does not mean exemption from ongoing immigration compliance either. Members need to watch the permission-to-stay date in the passport and, during continuous residence, comply with 90-day reporting. Thailand Privilege offers reporting assistance in defined locations and under programme service rules, yet the operator explicitly states that members remain responsible for meeting their own due dates. The service reduces administration; it does not remove the obligation.

For someone whose main objective is lawful employment, the relevant comparison is with an LTR category or the appropriate visa-and-work-permit route, not with the number of annual privilege points. For a person who does not need Thai work rights, the value proposition is different: a long membership horizon, repeated entry, and help with some of the practical administration around living in Thailand.

Work and immigration consequences always depend on what a person will actually do, their current status and the rules in force at the time. A general guide cannot decide whether a particular contract or business activity is lawful under a specific status; that needs to be matched to the correct work-authorisation route.

Thailand Privilege Visa FAQs for 2026

How much does Thailand Privilege Visa cost in 2026?
As of 22 September 2026, base fees start at THB 650,000 for Bronze and reach THB 5,000,000 for Reserve. Gold is THB 900,000, Platinum THB 1,500,000 and Diamond THB 2,500,000. A family plan can add separate supplementary membership costs. Promotions and Bronze availability should be reconfirmed before applying.
Are Thailand Privilege and Thailand Elite the same programme?
Thailand Elite is the former name and still appears widely in search results and older reviews. New applicants should focus on the current Thailand Privilege tiers: Bronze, Gold, Platinum, Diamond and Reserve. The operator marks pre-October-2023 packages as discontinued for new sales. An old Thailand Elite product name therefore should not be treated as a live 2026 offer.
Which Thailand Privilege tier should I choose: Bronze, Gold or Platinum?
Bronze and Gold both run for five years, so the practical decision is whether Gold’s points and services justify the higher fee. Platinum raises the upfront commitment to THB 1.5 million but extends the membership to ten years and opens supplementary family membership. Its simple annualised cost is lower than Gold’s, yet that does not automatically make it the better fit because the money is committed upfront. Start with your realistic Thailand horizon, then decide how much the additional services matter.
Can I work in Thailand on a Thailand Privilege Visa?
Standard membership does not provide work permission by itself. Employment requires the appropriate legal status and, where applicable, separate work authorisation. Flexible Plus exists as a special route for qualifying members, but it should not be generalised to every Thailand Privilege holder. If employment is central to the move, resolve the work route before committing to the membership fee.
Can I add a spouse, children or parents?
Yes. From Platinum upward, the Next Member terms cover qualifying immediate family including parents and step-parents, a married spouse or qualifying civil-union partner, children and legally adopted children. Regular prices are THB 1,000,000 for Platinum Next Member, THB 1,500,000 for Diamond and THB 2,000,000 for Reserve. The relationship must be documented, and temporary promotions can apply their own conditions, so the regular rate is the safer figure for budgeting.
How long does a Thailand Privilege application take?
Official material gives screening guides measured in weeks, commonly around four to six weeks or roughly one to two months. The operator also publishes a separate delay notice, so those figures are not a guarantee. Final payment and visa activation add time after approval. A relocation plan should therefore include slack instead of assuming the shortest quoted turnaround.
Do I need to prove income or buy health insurance?
Current official material does not set a separate income threshold or mandatory health-insurance requirement for standard membership. Passport, immigration-eligibility and background-screening rules still apply. The absence of a programme insurance mandate is also not a recommendation to live long term without medical cover. Any insurance requirement linked to another status or personal circumstance should be checked separately.

The programme makes the most sense when the long stay itself is the product you are buying, not when a list of perks is doing the selling. I would start with the number of years you realistically expect to use it, then look at whether the family needs additional memberships and whether anyone needs Thai work rights. Employment is the point that can change the whole decision because the standard card does not solve it. Family pricing also deserves a same-day check: a temporary promotion can materially change the total, while the regular supplementary rates are the safer base for planning.
