Cambodia Approves a Chamber of Commerce Representative Office in Paris

Event date

The Paris office is approved, with 15 members to be chosen by election

Agence Kampuchea Presse reported that the new body will be formally known as the Representative Office of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce in Paris. The stated purpose is to facilitate communication and business cooperation between Cambodian and French companies and institutions.

The decision provides for 15 members selected through an election process. It also states that the representative office will operate without funding from Cambodia's national budget.

According to AKP, the Paris office brings the Chamber's overseas network to seven representative offices across five countries. That places Paris alongside existing Cambodian Chamber of Commerce representation in Japan, Canada, the United States and Australia.

Businesses still need details on services and the operating timetable

For companies with commercial links between Cambodia and France, the main confirmed change is the creation of a permanent institutional presence in Paris. The public announcement does not yet spell out a service catalogue, opening date, contact procedure or the types of company requests the office will handle directly.

There is a broader business programme developing in parallel. Cambodia's Ministry of Commerce and the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Cambodia have scheduled the third Cambodia-France Business Forum for November 16–17, 2026 in Phnom Penh. That forum is separate from the Paris-office decision and should not be treated as evidence that the new representative office will already be fully operational by then.

For now, companies can treat the decision as a confirmed new channel in the Cambodia-France business network, while waiting for operational details before relying on the office for specific support.
