The event remains under way through September 28

The GX Summit opened on September 23 and is still in progress on September 27, with the programme due to finish the following day. AKP reported approximately 700 delegates, while G Adventures’ own event page lists the World Community Tourism Summit for September 27 as one of the core parts of GX Cambodia.

G Adventures founder Bruce Poon Tip said the company plans to promote Cambodia internationally and continue supporting community-based tourism. That is a company commitment and a statement of intent, not a forecast of future visitor numbers or accommodation bookings.

A week of delegates is not a rental-market trend

A gathering of this size can create short-lived demand for hotels, transport, restaurants and some short-term accommodation around the programme. Its significance for property owners is much harder to measure: event attendance does not show whether visitors will keep coming once the summit ends, and it cannot be converted directly into an occupancy or yield assumption.

The more meaningful follow-up would be evidence that travel sellers add Cambodia itineraries, extend stays or generate additional bookings over the months ahead. Until then, GX is best read as destination exposure and industry networking rather than proof that the broader rental market has changed.
