Cambodia-Indonesia trade reached $935 million in the first eight months of 2026
Eight-month trade was already close to the $1 billion mark
The Ministry of Commerce highlighted the figure on September 19 at the opening of Sousdey Indonesia 2026 in Phnom Penh. Agence Kampuchea Presse reported on September 21 that bilateral trade totalled $935 million during the first eight months of the year, an increase of approximately 33% from the same period in 2025.
Cambodia and Indonesia had recorded more than $1 billion in full-year bilateral trade in both 2024 and 2025. Reaching $935 million by the end of August therefore shows continued growth in the commercial relationship, although an eight-month total should not be treated as directly comparable with a complete calendar year.
The number is total two-way trade. It is not a figure for Cambodian exports alone, and it does not identify which product categories, price changes or shipment volumes produced the increase.
For practical context, see Cambodia economy and finance. This development also connects with Cambodia’s Jan–Apr trade was reported at $23.38bn.
The next question is where the growth is coming from
For importers, distributors and cross-border service providers, a larger trade value makes the Cambodia-Indonesia corridor more relevant to watch. Sousdey Indonesia 2026 was also designed as a commercial promotion platform, with the Indonesian Embassy bringing together products, businesses and prospective partners in Phnom Penh.
The 33% increase should still be read as broad economic context rather than proof of demand for a particular product, warehouse, transport route or investment. Businesses considering the corridor need category-level data, import rules, margins and distribution arrangements before drawing practical conclusions. The trade figure on its own also provides no basis for predicting Cambodian property prices or rental returns.
