Bali fuel queues continued as Pertamina expanded delivery plans

In brief: Bali's fuel supply was still being restored on 13 October 2026, with queues continuing despite additional shipments; anyone relying on a car or scooter for daily journeys should allow extra time for refuelling.

The disruption was also affecting traffic beyond the forecourts. In a report published on 13 October, Bisnis.com described queues spilling onto roads in Denpasar, Badung and Tabanan the previous day. A delivery announcement therefore offered little certainty about how long a particular journey or fuel stop would take.

The delivery plan extended beyond the initial 12–16 October schedule

Pertamina Patra Niaga's announcement on 12 October covered 26,200 kilolitres of fuel, equivalent to 26.2 million litres. ANTARA News Bali reported scheduled tanker arrivals on 12, 14 and 16 October through Sanggaran terminal in Denpasar and Manggis terminal in Karangasem.

The figure covered a phased programme. As of 13 October, the consignments scheduled for 14 and 16 October were still future deliveries, so the full volume could not be described as fuel already delivered to filling stations.

A later statement on the evening of 13 October gave a longer supply horizon. Bali Governor Wayan Koster outlined further deliveries through 17 October and said existing and incoming supplies would cover roughly two weeks of Pertalite and Pertamax demand. ANTARA reported that assurance as the governor's assessment of stocks and continuing shipments; it was not evidence that queues had ended.

Getting fuel from the terminals to the pumps

Pertamina apologised to residents on 13 October. According to its explanation reported by ANTARA, a technical problem on a tanker had delayed berthing and unloading, contributing to the disruption. The company was accelerating distribution as part of its recovery measures.

Both Manggis and Sanggaran terminals were operating around the clock, Pertamina said. Pertamina also announced a phased move to 24-hour filling-station service in Denpasar and Badung from 13 October, with Tabanan and Gianyar intended to follow within one or two days, on 14–15 October. That announcement did not establish that every station had already adopted the hours or had the required fuel available.

For a journey with a fixed arrival time, it makes sense to plan refuelling separately rather than leave it to a brief stop en route. Pertamina urged customers to buy according to need and avoid excessive purchases. Availability at the chosen station remains the relevant detail for a driver; the island-wide shipping timetable cannot provide a reliable refuelling time.
