STARLUX Airlines launches direct flights between Taipei and Bali

In brief: STARLUX Airlines operated its inaugural Taipei–Denpasar flight on October 1, 2026. The new service adds a third airline to an existing nonstop route, with flights scheduled on five days each week.

For Bali residents travelling to Taiwan, the immediate change is a broader choice of flights. It may also help travellers arranging longer journeys through Taipei, although connection times and ticket conditions will determine whether any particular itinerary is convenient.

An October 1 arrival, followed by a regular schedule

The inaugural JX765 service arrived at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on an Airbus A321 carrying 188 passengers, according to information provided by the airport to ANTARA. Its return service, JX766, departed for Taipei the same day with 188 passengers. The airport's statement was reported on October 2, while Indonesia's Ministry of Tourism confirmed October 1 as the launch date.

STARLUX had announced its Bali service in April, listing departures on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. The same pattern was planned in both directions. Passengers booking a specific journey should consult the airline's current timetable, particularly where a later flight or a fixed arrival date leaves little room for changes.

A five-day schedule can offer useful flexibility for a longer stay, but it does not give travellers a nonstop departure every day. Actual fares, baggage allowances and change conditions still vary by booking.

More competition on a route Bali already had

This is STARLUX's first operation at Ngurah Rai, not the island's first direct air connection with Taipei. Airport management identified China Airlines and EVA Air as the two existing carriers, making STARLUX the third.

The additional service gives passengers another timetable and fare structure to compare. It could also make some travel plans easier, but the inaugural flight is not evidence that tickets across the route have become cheaper. Nor does it establish any measurable effect on local property values or rental demand. Those questions require broader data than a route-launch announcement provides.
