Klungkung reviews a plan to double parking charges at Diamond Hill’s
In brief: Diamond Hill’s on Nusa Penida wants to double its motorcycle and car parking charges from 15 October 2026; the district transport office has asked the operator to explain its proposal, and the planned start date should not be mistaken for an approved tariff.
The operator submitted its request on 8 October. Four days later, Klungkung transport officials called its representatives in to explain the increase, according to a 12 October report by detikBali.
The proposed rates, vehicle by vehicle
Motorcycle parking would rise from Rp5,000 to Rp10,000, while the charge for a car would go from Rp10,000 to Rp20,000. Both changes amount to a 100% increase. These are charges proposed by the operator of a particular attraction, not a new island-wide parking schedule.
The operator has targeted 15 October for the change. As of the transport officials' comments on 12 October, however, there was no reported decision confirming that the higher rates could take effect on that date.
Paperwork remains part of the review
I Ketut Karasdana, an official at Klungkung's transport department, explained that operators of designated parking facilities may set their own charges, subject to the required submission to the department before making changes. A company applying in its own name also needs the relevant business permit. He said the information available to officials suggested Diamond Hill’s permit was still being processed, and the department had asked for the submission to come through the customary village working with the company.
Klungkung's tourism department also indicated that it would review the proposal. The 12 October account did not report a final outcome. Anyone driving to the attraction after 15 October should therefore check the charge actually displayed or collected at the site instead of treating the proposed figure as settled.
Parking is also distinct from the regional tourism levies introduced on Nusa Penida on 1 September. The Diamond Hill’s request does not announce a change to those levies or to fees at other car parks.
