Kampial households received emergency water as supply problems continued

In brief: An army delivery brought approximately 16,000 litres of water to Kampial in Badung, Bali, on 29 September 2026. It provided relief during shortages, but later reporting continued to describe supply problems across South Kuta.

ANTARA Bali, citing the Kodam IX/Udayana military command, reported that 650 households, or roughly 3,900 people, received assistance. Distribution took place in Banjar Menesa, within the traditional village of Kampial in Benoa, South Kuta. The military described it as help for residents affected by drought.

Supply concerns continued into October

By 10 October, the wider shortage was still drawing calls for action. In a report published that day, detikBali said Bali's governor had urged faster assistance to parts of South Kuta lacking water. That account did not establish conditions at individual Kampial homes, but it gives no basis for treating the September delivery as the end of the area's difficulties.

Earlier reporting explains why waiting for rain alone was not the whole answer. On 29 September, Tirta Mangutama's head told detikBali that southern Badung faced both reduced raw-water availability during the dry spell and a failure of the main pump at the Estuary treatment plant. Kampial was among the affected areas.

A replacement pump had been installed by 30 September, according to the utility's account in Warta Bali Online on 1 October. It expected another four to six days before distribution returned to normal. Installation and a recovery estimate were distinct from evidence that every household had running water again.

A relief delivery says little about a particular rental

The reported volume belongs to the Kampial operation, not to the whole of Bali's relief effort. It also does not show that every tenant or property owner in the neighbourhood received assistance.

Bonyoh, in Kintamani, Bangli regency, received a separate delivery. Its volume is disputed in the reporting: ANTARA gave approximately 16,000 litres, while Bali Post quoted the village head as reporting 20,000 litres. Those numbers concern Bonyoh and should not be added to Kampial's total.

For someone choosing a home in Kampial, an address-specific conversation with the manager and water provider is more informative than relying on a past aid announcement. How the property is supplied, what storage it has and who arranges a refill during an interruption need clear answers. The landlord and tenant should also agree who pays when a private delivery is necessary; neither the cost nor its inclusion in the rent can be inferred from this news.
