Cambodia–Vietnam Trade Exhibition Opens at Koh Pich in Phnom Penh
A trade fair for manufacturers, distributors and service providers
The fair is taking place at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre. Vietnam's Ministry of National Defence and Ministry of Industry and Trade are organising it in cooperation with Cambodian government counterparts. Business groups and officials from both countries attended the opening.
Visitors can see consumer goods, food and agricultural products, garments, machinery and technology alongside banking, telecommunications and healthcare services. Organisers have also arranged opportunities for businesses to meet, discuss distribution and explore potential partnerships. For wholesalers and importers in Cambodia, the main opportunity is direct access to manufacturers whose products they might otherwise encounter only through intermediaries.
Cambodia's AKP news agency says admission is free. The exhibition runs from 14 to 17 October; it is a time-limited trade event, not a permanent supplier marketplace.
For practical context, see Cambodia economy and finance. This development also connects with Cambodia and Vietnam agree on a joint trade committee.
Official accounts give different exhibitor and booth totals
Vietnam's government news portal reported 150 participating organisations and businesses occupying 189 standard booths. AKP, in its account of the same opening, described nearly 160 companies and more than 230 booths. The two reports agree on the event, venue and purpose but do not provide a clear basis for reconciling their different counts.
These figures are best read with their source attribution attached. None should be presented as a definitive final total without clarification from the organisers.
Almost 10,000 visits reported in the first three days
A 17 October report in Vietnam's People's Army Newspaper cited the organisers as saying the fair had attracted nearly 10,000 visits by the afternoon of 16 October. That gives a sense of foot traffic through its first three days, including visitors browsing and shopping. It does not establish the value of business generated, and the sources reviewed provide no verified tally of completed supply agreements.
The immediate benefit for a Cambodian trader is therefore an opening to request samples, pricing and commercial terms from potential partners. Any subsequent import deal would still need a separate assessment of shipping costs, payment arrangements and applicable Cambodian import or product requirements. Participation in a trade exhibition is only the beginning of that process.
