Cambodia immigration authority warns against unofficial e-Visa website
Let’s explore this page together
What the immigration authority actually warned about
Agence Kampuchea Presse reported that the General Department of Immigration issued a public clarification dated June 10, 2026. The department said the website identified in its notice was not a platform officially recognised by the Royal Government of Cambodia and was not operated by the GDI for electronic visa consultation or entry procedures.
The notice urged Cambodian citizens and international travellers to verify immigration information through official government channels. It is important not to stretch that statement beyond what the authority said: the notice establishes that the site is unofficial, but the published clarification does not separately classify it as fraudulent.
For practical context, see Cambodia market and country comparisons. This development also connects with Cambodia adds A, B and C visas to its online eVisa system.
e-Visa and e-Arrival are separate government services
The June warning directed travellers to the official Cambodia e-Arrival system for electronic arrival procedures. The current government service itself makes an important distinction: e-Arrival is not a visa. It is an electronic arrival form that replaces several paper processes used for immigration, health and customs information.
Cambodia’s electronic visa is handled through a separate official government e-Visa service. As checked in September 2026, that system offers online Visa T and Visa E applications, while e-Arrival remains a separate arrival requirement. Having a visa therefore does not automatically remove the need to complete the arrival process where the current rules require it.
These are separate issues because similar branding can make unrelated steps look interchangeable. A visa application, an arrival declaration and general immigration guidance should each be matched to the government service responsible for that task.
**Why the distinction matters before you submit personal data**
A professional-looking page or a prominent search result does not establish that a service is run by the Cambodian government. Before uploading a passport copy or making a payment, travellers can reduce the risk of using the wrong service by starting from the relevant government authority and following its official service path.
The official e-Arrival service states that submitting the arrival form is free. e-Visa fees and eligibility are handled separately by the official visa system and depend on the visa category. A private service may offer assistance, but that does not give it government status or replace the need to check the current official requirements.
