Cambodia moves business registration access to CamDigiKey

The login change is already in effect

The change follows a Ministry of Commerce notification dated 23 August 2026. Cambodia’s current business-registration portals now use CamDigiKey authentication, so the old username and password no longer function as a standalone route into a company record.

CamDigiKey is a government digital-identity system linked to an individual. After logging in, that person can access company records associated with the account. For businesses carried over from the previous login framework, the system provides a Request for Account Ownership process to connect an existing company record to the relevant CamDigiKey account.

Professional summaries agree that the transition mainly affects legacy records created around the switch at the end of July 2026. Their wording differs slightly on the precise treatment of 31 July itself, so a company whose record was submitted on that date should check its actual status in the live system rather than rely on the date alone.

Why account access now matters for compliance

The change does not rewrite a company’s underlying ownership rights. Its practical effect is on access to Ministry of Commerce online services. Without the correct account link, a business may be unable to submit its Annual Declaration of Commercial Enterprise, amend director or shareholder information, update its registered office or complete other corporate filings through the system.

The materials reviewed do not set out one general deadline by which every legacy company must complete the claim. The relevant deadline is therefore often the company’s next filing or planned corporate change. A business with an upcoming declaration or amendment has a practical reason to resolve access before that filing becomes time-sensitive.

There is also a governance issue for companies to decide internally. A CamDigiKey account belongs to a person, so the business needs to know whose account will hold access and who will be available when authentication is required. Holding the digital access credential does not, by itself, make that person a shareholder, beneficial owner or legal representative of the company.

Check access before the next filing is due

A company that existed before the transition should confirm whether its existing record appears after CamDigiKey login. If it does not, the account-ownership claim procedure is the route described for bringing the old record under the new authentication method, and the previous account credentials may be needed.

That can become a practical problem where the old username and password were held by an incorporation agent, a former employee or another representative. The risk is not that the company automatically loses its registration, but that a filing or amendment cannot be completed on time because nobody has working access to the record.
