Cambodia’s Single Portal logged 58,081 approved business registrations

Event date

The milestone covers almost six years of registrations

A June 15 update from Cambodia’s Digital Economy and Business Committee, reported by the Phnom Penh Post, put the number of approved registrations at 58,081 for the period from June 15, 2020 through May 31, 2026.

Among those registrations, 20,964, or 36%, were businesses owned by women. The combined registered capital attached to the businesses was about $23.82 billion, roughly 97 trillion riel.

The Single Portal was introduced to bring core business-registration procedures into one digital process. Cambodia’s current Registration Services platform continues to provide online filing, payment, decisions and downloadable digital documents through the government system.

The $23.82 billion total is registered capital, not 2026 inflows

The capital figure needs to be read with its time period. It is the cumulative registered capital associated with businesses approved through the platform over nearly six years. It is not evidence that $23.82 billion was newly invested in Cambodia during 2026, nor does it show how much capital was actually deployed after registration.

For a founder, the more practical signal is the volume of businesses that have used the digital route. That scale does not tell an applicant how long an individual case will take, whether documents will be returned for correction, or which sector-specific approvals may still be required.

The official Registration Services portal says business registration, tax registration, the enterprise-opening notice and establishment registration can be completed within eight working days when the submission is correct and complete. If an application is returned for correction, the review period starts again after resubmission.

Specialised licences, certificates and permits do not all follow that same timetable. Their review periods depend on the service and responsible authority. A business launch plan therefore needs to separate incorporation and tax registration from any additional approvals required for the activity itself.
