Seasonal Prague–Sihanoukville charters are set for winter 2026/27

Cambodia’s state news agency AKP reported on 3 July that TUI Airways is due to operate the Prague–Sihanoukville charter once a week during the 2026/27 winter season. The announcement specified a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner with 305 seats and a programme running from 19 December to 3 April.

As of 20 September, the launch date is still ahead. Current route listings continue to show direct Prague–Sihanoukville service beginning in December, so the correct status remains a confirmed future programme instead of an operating air link.

The package-holiday model matters for travellers

Cambodia’s State Secretariat of Civil Aviation said the flights are being arranged by tour operators as part of package holidays, not as a conventional scheduled commercial route. This matters because travellers should not assume the same ticket availability, change rules or sales channels they would expect from a regular airline service.

For people based on Cambodia’s coast, or those who move between Cambodia and Europe, the charter may remove a connection for some winter journeys from the Czech market. Its practical usefulness will still depend on the terms under which the tour operators sell the flights and packages.

The route adds a direct Central European origin to Sihanoukville’s international network, but one weekly aircraft should not be taken as evidence of a permanent European traffic base. The expectation of hundreds of Czech visitors each week remains a forecast until the flights actually operate and passenger volumes are known.

The more meaningful signal will come after the first season: whether the programme runs as announced, whether demand supports it, and whether operators bring it back for winter 2027/28. For residents and local businesses, that will say more about lasting connectivity than the launch announcement alone.
