Cambodia's CDC reviews seven proposed investment projects worth about $450 million
Seven proposals cover factories, agro-processing and power infrastructure
The fifth One-Window-Service Meeting of 2026 was held on May 19 under Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board. According to Agence Kampuchea Presse, citing the CDC, the seven applications cover projects in Kampong Speu, Stung Treng and Pursat and could represent about 900 jobs if they proceed.
Two proposals are industrial: a washing, dyeing and printing facility, and treatment-tank and boiler infrastructure. A third is an edible-oil refinery intended to process products including rice-bran, soybean, corn and olive oils.
Energy accounts for four of the seven proposals. The list includes solar plants rated at 200 MW, 100 MW and 30 MW, plus a 500 MW energy-storage system. The May 19 report does not assign each named energy proposal to a specific one of the three provinces, so the source does not support a project-by-project location map.
For practical context, see Cambodia economy and finance. This development also connects with Cambodia Registers 36 Investment Projects Worth $470M.
The May 19 meeting records a review, not completed investment
The wording of the original report is important. It says the CDC reviewed applications and describes the projects as proposed. It does not say that every project had received final approval, secured financing, started procurement or entered construction.
A later CDC monthly update, reported by AKP on June 12, said Cambodia approved 37 investment projects worth about $570 million during May. That summary names some examples and provinces but does not provide a complete list that allows all seven May 19 applications to be matched with confidence. The later monthly figure therefore cannot be used on its own to upgrade the status of each proposal in this story.
The same caution applies to the power figures. The three solar proposals total 330 MW and the storage proposal is rated at 500 MW, but these are proposed project capacities in the May review, not operating capacity already added to Cambodia's grid.
No province-level implementation timetable has been published
For businesses following Kampong Speu, Stung Treng and Pursat, the mix of projects is more informative at this stage than the headline capital figure. Manufacturing, agro-processing and energy construction can create very different needs for labour, contractors, transport and supporting services, and the May report does not provide individual schedules for when those needs might materialise.
The same applies to the roughly 900 expected jobs. That number is an aggregate estimate for the seven proposals, not a current vacancy count. More concrete conclusions will depend on later project registration details, named sites and implementation schedules.
