Svay Rieng completes the final stage of mass property title distribution

The final handover covered 138 villages

The ministry said the 25 July ceremony involved 129,595 certificates across 138 villages. It described the event as the completion of the province’s broad title-distribution drive after the land registration work that preceded it.

The difference is important because Svay Rieng had already marked the end of its systematic land registration process in February 2025. The July 2026 event concerns the later stage of handing over the remaining certificates at scale, instead of the start of a new registration programme.

For registered owners, the practical value is clearer documentary evidence of recorded ownership. For anyone considering a land purchase, however, the province-wide milestone is only background: the legal position of the specific parcel still depends on its own title, boundaries, registered owner and any unresolved restrictions or disputes.

Some land categories were explicitly left for further resolution

The ministry said authorities would continue dealing with certificates still outstanding and with land cases that had not been fully resolved. It specifically referred to state land, archaeological sites and land associated with riverbanks, lakes and other water areas.

This keeps the scope of the announcement narrow. Completion of the mass distribution programme does not mean that every land dispute in Svay Rieng has ended or that every parcel now carries an uncomplicated private title. Buyers, owners and heirs dealing with a particular plot still need to rely on the records and status of that plot rather than on the province-wide completion statement alone.
