Inflation and prices
Inflation can explain part of the cost backdrop, but it does not answer ‘what is this home worth?’. The two questions cannot be fused even when both figures look like percentages.
What does Bali inflation show?
Bank Indonesia's report records Bali Province consumer-price inflation at 3.27% year on year in Q2 2026, following 2.81% in Q1. It measures price change in a defined consumer basket for the stated period. It does not measure a particular asset's price, budget, rent or return.
The short answer
Inflation is useful for understanding the broad consumer-price backdrop and framing questions about costs. Property price needs a different sample: comparable addresses, format, area, stage, right, inclusions, date and observation type — asking price or completed transaction.

- Established
- Bali consumer-price inflation in Q2 2026 was 3.27% year on year according to BI.
- Not established
- Price, rent, costs or return for a particular property.
The word ‘price’ hides different facts
A buyer may call a listing amount, a completed transaction, a monthly expense or a future valuation ‘price’. Inflation does not settle any of those questions automatically. First clarify the subject, then date and source. If a price is not linked to asset type and terms, a comparison proves nothing.
How to use inflation for a cost question
Do not plug a provincial percentage into a personal financial model. Instead request the selected asset's recurring and one-off costs, currency, date, payee and inclusions. Inflation can explain why those questions should be revisited, but it does not answer them.

How to update context
Check the report date and the period it describes. A new BI or BPS release updates context; it does not rewrite an old asking price or signed contract. For an asset, update a separate cost register and price evidence.
