What Do Six and Twelve Months of Home Internet Cost Under Published Bali ISP Terms?
Published · Updated
Why six months of service can mean a longer commitment
An advertised monthly broadband rate answers just one of the questions a six-month tenant needs to ask. The price of getting connected, the service already paid for and the period for which the subscriber remains bound by contract are three different things. A provider may bill one month at a time while requiring a full year of service. Another may have no long-term contract for a particular equipment option but still require several months of prepayment. Neither arrangement tells you whether the landlord can keep an existing line when the tenant moves out or whether the next occupant can use a prepaid balance.
The published terms of GlobalXtreme, Biznet and CBN illustrate that distinction. Biznet HOME 0D is explicitly available in Bali under its terms, and the new-customer arrangement requires three months paid upfront plus one free month and the purchase of a fiber modem. Its owned-device conditions state that there is no ongoing subscription contract. CBN's general retail agreement sets a twelve-month minimum and an early termination charge. GlobalXtreme's customer support terms also state a minimum year of service, even though it bills monthly. The duration of the agreement must therefore be read separately from the payment frequency, and any product-specific exception matters more than a generic advertising slogan.
This comparison uses rates and contractual terms published or visible on 19 October 2026, with attention to the Badung Regency and Denpasar City parts of Bali. Figures for named packages are calculated over six and twelve months, not extrapolated from an anonymous 'starting from' banner. They are known payments under specified assumptions, not an all-inclusive quote: installation, tax, site conditions, eligibility and cancellation can change the amount the tenant ultimately pays. A regional coverage page establishes that a provider markets service in an area; it does not establish a spare connection port at an individual villa.

Regular rates, promotions and advance-payment discounts
The table is deliberately not a league table of three comparable all-in bills. Biznet's figures include the explicitly priced owned modem and installation as well as its 3+1 introductory arrangement. GlobalXtreme's starred numbers apply only if the Lite+ 01 monthly base published on 22 December 2025 and the product's advertised prepayment discounts are still both applicable to the new address. The CBN entries marked † represent service charges alone, calculated from the Bali Fiber 100 listing; setup, tax and a possible early-exit fee have not been added. Different plan features and unknown property charges make a ranking by these three totals misleading.
Consider the GlobalXtreme distinction first. Its December 2025 installation guide listed Lite+ 01 at IDR 700,000 a month, while its dedicated professional Lite+ page advertises a 10% reduction for six months paid in advance and 20% for twelve months paid in advance. Combining those published statements solely as an illustrative service-cost scenario gives IDR 3,780,000 for six months and IDR 6,720,000 for twelve. The respective undiscounted amounts would be IDR 4,200,000 and IDR 8,400,000, creating nominal savings of IDR 420,000 or IDR 1,680,000 before any other charges. A new October 2026 price quote for Lite+ 01 was not established, so these results should never be mistaken for a binding contemporary offer. Nor can a reader take the IDR 240,000 'up to 300 Mbps' headline on GlobalXtreme's Indonesian homepage and apply the Lite+ discounts to it: the homepage does not establish that the low-price offer is the same product.
Biznet has a more concrete starting point for Bali. Its Badung and Denpasar listings identify HOME 0D at IDR 250,000 per month, and its packages page displays the same monthly amount. The Badung page also contains generic 'from IDR 200,000' and 'from IDR 250,000' statements, while its HOME 0D promotional block shows a different maximum speed from the main packages page. Those mismatched captions must not silently replace the named 0D price. Under the 3+1 requirement, six months of use incur five chargeable months: IDR 750,000 at the start and two later IDR 250,000 renewals, producing IDR 1,250,000 in subscription fees. Twelve months incur eleven chargeable months, or IDR 2,750,000 in service charges if the renewal price remains unchanged. Adding the published IDR 500,000 modem purchase and IDR 250,000 installation for the owned-device branch produces IDR 2,000,000 and IDR 3,500,000 in known payments for the two time horizons.
There is a separate annual HOME 0D price on Biznet's packages page: IDR 2,250,000 versus the displayed undiscounted IDR 3,000,000. That is a nominal IDR 750,000 reduction from twelve standard months; it is not evidence that a new customer can claim both the annual offer and the extra month from the 3+1 starter requirement. How an annual order interacts with the modem purchase, new-customer billing and the precise property must be confirmed before calculating its first invoice. This is why the table uses a single coherent starter-plus-monthly-renewals scenario rather than stacking promotions. Biznet's conditions also allow changes to subscription charges, so the twelve-month illustration is not a contractual promise of twelve identical renewal prices.
CBN provides a useful lesson in reading a plan card rather than its surrounding marketing copy. Its English Bali branch page advertises residential packages 'from IDR 229,000/month', then names Fiber 100 at IDR 199,000/month. An October 1, 2026 CBN promotion, visible in indexed official content but not reliably available through direct article reading, lists the same Fiber 100 price and a temporary boost up to 200 Mbps for six months. The Bali plan card itself is readable and also shows that six-month boost. At an unchanged IDR 199,000 monthly rate, subscription charges are IDR 1,194,000 across six months and IDR 2,388,000 across twelve, excluding additional costs. The temporary speed boost does not cut the monthly bill or make 200 Mbps the underlying year-long plan speed. Equally, an older CBN offer to pay for twelve months and receive fifteen expired on 30 June 2026; its free extra months and installation benefits are not components of an October calculation.
Common mistakes and how to fix them
What it costsProduces a fictional discount on a different plan.
What to do insteadMatch the exact product name on the rate and discount terms; keep the dated Lite+ 01 example separate.
What it costsMisstates both cash due at connection and what a compatible offer would cost.
What to do insteadCalculate the 3+1 starter with subsequent renewals separately from the unverified annual alternative.
What it costsThe comparison assigns value to a benefit that is not a price reduction.
What to do insteadRecord Fiber 100's advertised rate, base service tier and temporary boost as separate terms.
What it costsHides the property's installation exposure and exit obligations.
What to do insteadMark address-related charges as unpriced and obtain the actual cancellation terms before prepaying.
Installation, modem ownership, taxes and other charges
The upfront invoice is often the most useful number when the intended tenancy is short. For a new Biznet HOME 0D order on the published 3+1 owned-modem terms, the required first payment can be laid out without guessing: IDR 750,000 buys three months of service and triggers a fourth free month; the fiber modem costs IDR 500,000 to purchase; and the owned-equipment conditions put installation at IDR 250,000. This gives IDR 1,500,000 in initially identifiable charges. Months five and six, if the connection remains active and the monthly price does not change, add IDR 500,000. Eight further paid periods after the opening four months bring the twelve-month scenario to IDR 3,500,000. These amounts already include the modem and published installation line. They are not property-specific final invoices, and a prepaid service charge should not be counted a second time as both an opening payment and a separate subscription fee.
Equipment status matters at Biznet because two sections of the terms describe very different obligations. Under 'Perangkat Kepemilikan', the customer purchases the modem, and the listed HOME 0D option has no long-term subscription contract. The relocation charge for this branch is IDR 250,000 where service is available at the new address. The 'Menyewa/Dipinjamkan' section, covering rented or loaned equipment, instead sets a modem rental of IDR 50,000 per month, minimum terms of 24 months for a house and six for an apartment, an IDR 2,750,000 early-termination penalty, and a different relocation charge of IDR 500,000. Those rental terms do not belong in the purchased-modem HOME 0D calculation. The general Biznet conditions also specify a possible IDR 25,000 monthly surcharge for properties using certain underground cabling arrangements. Until the building's installation category is established, that surcharge is a conditional cost, not a universal charge or an assumed zero.
GlobalXtreme publishes a different kind of installation information. Its guide dated December 2025 describes new installation as starting from IDR 300,000, but says it may be free for qualifying standard cable runs once the location has been surveyed. Both statements are conditional and neither fixes the bill for a particular Denpasar apartment or Badung villa. The operator's support terms describe first-service charges that may include the initial service period, activation, purchased or rented equipment, a security deposit, installation and taxes. Its older guide mentions complimentary router offers for certain advance payments, but neither this reference nor the general marketing page establishes a free router for an exact Lite+ 01 order in October 2026. The six- and twelve-month GlobalXtreme figures therefore leave these non-service costs unpriced rather than treating them as waived.
CBN's retail terms require installation to be paid before service begins without establishing one Bali-wide Fiber 100 installation price. They also publish separate charges for materials outside the standard installation: Ethernet cable beyond the standard one metre can cost IDR 15,000 per metre, and patch cord beyond the stated 25-metre standard IDR 25,000 per metre. Such amounts become relevant only when the specified additional work is actually needed. CBN-owned terminal equipment must be returned after the subscription ends; published replacement charges for damaged devices should not be placed in a normal setup quote. All three providers discuss fees or taxes at different levels of detail, but their public material does not establish a single reliable, address-specific tax-inclusive total for these example bills. The absence of a firm tax amount is an unresolved item, not proof that the tax or additional wiring will be free.

Preset: Biznet HOME 0D with a purchased modem, at the published IDR 250,000/month rate checked 19 October 2026. The opening 3+1 arrangement means IDR 750,000 upfront for three paid months plus a free fourth month, IDR 500,000 for the modem and IDR 250,000 installation: IDR 1,500,000 in identifiable initial payments. Known payments are IDR 2,000,000 for six months, or IDR 3,500,000 for twelve months with eight further renewals, subject to unchanged rates. Promo months are set to zero; the unused promoMonthly field is neutral and no annual offer has been stacked with the starter. A zero in tax/fees or early-exit inputs means that no verified amount has been entered into this model, NOT that every applicable tax, property charge or exit obligation is zero. Edit only one documented plan and payment arrangement at a time; these figures are known components, not an all-inclusive quote or a guaranteed refund.
Leaving early, changing villas and keeping the subscription
A twelve-month minimum term does not mean twelve months must always be prepaid. CBN's retail terms call for at least twelve months of subscription and, when a customer terminates before that point, written notice at least fourteen days ahead and an IDR 1,000,000 penalty. On the published Bali Fiber 100 base, six months of service amount to IDR 1,194,000. If the subscriber genuinely closes the account at six months under those general termination provisions, the identifiable service plus exit payment is IDR 2,194,000 before installation, tax and any other charges. Keeping the same monthly rate for a full twelve months would cost IDR 2,388,000 in service fees alone. Only IDR 194,000 separates those two illustrated outcomes, despite the vastly different duration of actual use. The comparison is about stated money obligations, not a claim that either route is preferable for every renter.
With GlobalXtreme, the published support FAQ says the minimum period is one year and describes month-by-month billing. Its termination section generally speaks of notice at least thirty days before cancellation and refunds of prepaid monthly service for time after the effective termination date, excluding non-refundable charges and unpaid balances. Crucially, the stated freedom to terminate is qualified where a minimum service commitment applies. It would therefore be wrong to present the refund wording as a guaranteed six-month exit right for a new Lite+ 01 subscriber. The public information reviewed does not supply a plan-specific early-exit charge or a settled calculation of what would be recoverable midway through a twelve-month prepayment. The customer would need the signed term, effective end date, any price-discount reversal and a statement of refundable and non-refundable items. GlobalXtreme also requires the return of equipment it owns; purchased, promotional and loaned devices cannot automatically be treated alike.
The cash exposure is easier to grasp using the dated illustrative Lite+ 01 figures. A hypothetical annual payment of IDR 6,720,000 locks in a lower service rate than IDR 8,400,000 for twelve undiscounted months. After six months in the house, half of the prepaid service period remains unused; on the illustrative discounted basis, that portion corresponds to IDR 3,360,000. It is money allocated to future service, not necessarily money forfeited, because the actual refund or retention depends on valid termination and the governing conditions. Paying for only six months under the illustrative 10% offer lowers the immediate service outlay to IDR 3,780,000, but does not by itself remove the separately stated one-year minimum. A smaller initial transfer and a shorter legal commitment are different benefits, and the provider has to confirm whether the chosen package offers either one.
Biznet's purchased-modem HOME 0D branch does not carry the long contract that appears in its equipment-rental section. That does not make prepaid time universally recoverable. Biznet's general usage terms say monthly service payments already made cannot be refunded, converted into cash or transferred. The separate annual IDR 2,250,000 card is therefore especially important to discuss if a lease might end before month twelve; do not assume a proportional refund or the ability to apply the remaining months to a new tenant. The IDR 2,750,000 rental-equipment penalty is also not a legitimate component of the owned-modem 0D total. For a genuine move to another property, the published IDR 250,000 relocation charge on the owned-device branch is conditional on the new location being within the service area, while the equipment-rental branch has its own IDR 500,000 rule.
Who actually holds the account can determine how much of this money matters to the tenant. Some rental properties may provide an existing broadband line in the owner's name, with the tenant paying indirectly through rent or reimbursements. In that situation the registered customer, not whoever uses the Wi-Fi, normally interacts with the ISP regarding the invoice, cancellation and equipment. Conversely, a tenant considering a new account should not assume the provider will accept their identity documents or an installation without the owner's permission merely because there is service in the neighbourhood. Published terms alone do not settle who may sign for a foreign tenant or how a landlord and renter must divide the charges. CBN lists IDR 250,000 as an address-transfer fee; Biznet differentiates that fee by modem ownership; the GlobalXtreme materials reviewed do not provide an equivalent fixed transfer rate. A moving date, the registered subscriber's name and the treatment of a remaining balance are therefore more informative than the headline discount percentage.

Questions
- To the property owner: whose name is on the ISP account, who pays the bill, and who receives any refund or deposit?
- To the provider: does this exact plan have a minimum service term even if payments are monthly?
- To the provider: how must I request disconnection at six months, how much notice is required and what would I owe?
- To both: can prepaid time or the account move to another villa or subscriber, and what is the applicable transfer fee?
- To the provider and owner: what installation work and cable length are covered by the quotation for this specific address?
- To the provider: if I prepay twelve months, which amounts and devices, if any, are returned on early termination?
What stays uncertain until the exact address is checked
A provider's city page is a service-area statement, not a successful installation test for a particular property. Biznet lists HOME 0D on both its Badung and Denpasar pages, yet the registration process begins with checking coverage for a home or apartment, then registering and waiting for a service-availability email before payment and scheduling. Its standard installation description includes up to 80 metres of cable, but that is not a guarantee that every villa will fit a standard cable route or avoid separate charges. The regional information itself distinguishes network already covered from building areas still under construction or planned for later rollout. Even on a covered street, a specific building may have no open port, inaccessible cable entry or restrictions imposed by its owner or management.
CBN's public coverage interface requests a city, subdistrict, village, street address and house or unit number. Its Bali Fiber 100 listing cannot answer those fields on a prospective tenant's behalf. GlobalXtreme's own installation guide says the possibility of a standard or free connection depends on a site survey, including cable distance and extra support structures. Physical access may require landlord consent, roof access, a permitted drilling route or a decision about equipment that previous occupants left behind. An existing modem only establishes that a device is present; it does not prove a live subscriber account, the right to transfer that account, compatibility with a new service or the cost of reactivating the line. No registration, personal address or booking has been submitted as part of this public-price comparison.
Consequently, two figures can be genuinely useful before the move without pretending to be a binding total. One is the upfront payment required by a stated plan and equipment arrangement; another is the known payment for six or twelve months under that arrangement, including any clearly applicable cancellation scenario. The last pieces of a complete budget arise only when the provider confirms coverage at the actual door, any non-standard installation work, applicable taxes, billing identity and whether unused prepaid time can be retained or returned. Until those facts exist, the comparison measures what is publicly knowable, not the finished price of connecting a particular Bali property.
Bali expert view

An annual discount can cease to be attractive when the lease ends early and neither a transfer nor a refund is secured. CBN's general retail conditions set a twelve-month minimum and an IDR 1,000,000 early-exit payment, while GlobalXtreme publishes a one-year minimum but leaves the precise effect of early cancellation to the applicable agreement. Biznet HOME 0D with a purchased modem has no long-term service contract under the relevant terms, yet its paid monthly periods are not refundable or transferable, and the separate rental-equipment rules must not be confused with that arrangement. The account holder, the realistic departure date and the fate of unused prepaid months should therefore carry more weight than the percentage displayed on a package card.
