Work and business in Bali
In Bali, one life plan can easily sound like one question: “I want to live, work remotely and perhaps start a project.” In practice, it is several different reviews. A sensible starting point is not to seek a universal arrangement but to understand which part of your story needs an immigration, licensing, asset or tax answer.
Which question should come first?
Start with what is already happening, not what you have been promised. Is there a remote employer or client? Does an Indonesian company appear? Is the asset only for living or is activity intended there? Is there a long stay and income from several countries? Each answer leads to its own guide and record set.
What is known and what to verify
What to verify for the address
Four questions that should not be glued together
Visa and stay permit belong to immigration. A company and stated activity belong to the business and licensing track. A building and its records belong to the asset. Length of stay and sources of income belong to a personal tax picture. A fact can matter in two folders, but no folder replaces another.
What a good first professional enquiry looks like
Rather than asking “can I do everything?”, prepare a short fact note: nationality and current immigration status, presence dates, employer or clients, company role, asset and address, intended service, money flow and available agreements. Then ask one precise question of the professional whose responsibility matches it. The answer is then reviewable rather than merely reassuring.
Stop signals before a deposit or launch
Pause if one phrase promises to close visa, activity, tax and asset questions; if you are asked not to describe the real model; if a building record is not tied to the address; if an NIB is presented as a universal licence; or if a tax conclusion is built without days, income and records. What is needed is not another promise seller but independent review of the missing fact.
