GDP and economic growth

GDP growth is context, not a valuer of an apartment or villa. It helps you read a period and frame market questions, but it does not replace review of the exact address, format, rights, permissions and deal terms.

What does Bali's economic growth show?

In Bank Indonesia's August 2026 report, Bali Province's economy grew 5.78% year on year in Q2, after 5.58% in Q1. That is a confirmed comparison of two provincial periods. It does not show how much a particular property's price changed or whether it will be sought after at a chosen address.

The short answer

Use GDP to understand the broad backdrop and avoid mistaking it for asset statistics. You cannot transfer 5.78% to price, rent or return: those questions have a different geography, sample and method. For an asset decision, growth is supplemented by address-level due diligence, not substituted for it.

Compare like with like

‘Year on year’ answers one question: how a period compares with the same period a year earlier. It is not the price change of an asset over ownership and does not automatically describe quarter-to-quarter movement. Before drawing a conclusion, label the metric, period, geography and comparison basis. Without that, even a correct number can be used for the wrong purpose.

Sector context cannot be transferred to an asset

Construction and investment in a provincial report can be a reason to learn more about supply and infrastructure. They do not validate the right, quality, completion date, access, costs or price of a particular project. Every asset needs separate review of records and facts.

Update source

Bank Indonesia publishes a sequence of dated Bali reports and BPS releases quarterly statistics. When an update appears, replace the particular period and label rather than stacking a new measure onto an old one as if they were one observation.

Decision steps

  1. Step 1

Read the period, geography and comparison basis.

  2. Step 2

Separate general context from asset data.

  3. Step 3

State which address-level fact needs checking next.

  4. Step 4

Request records for right, permissions, stage and costs.

  5. Step 5

When a new report arrives, update the dated context, not the old decision retrospectively.
