Owner reporting
A useful report gives an owner a route back to source. It shows period, asset, author, what happened, what supports it, what remains unknown and which decision is needed. Everything else is presentation.
What should a good report contain?
Not one final number. Split report into four lines: operations and receipts, works and access, records and communications, open questions. Every line has period, source and meaning boundary.
A report starts with period and asset, leads to primary material, does not merge fact with conclusion and ends with decisions or questions and holders. It should not promise income, condition or compliance.
- Is there period and source boundary?
- Does every material line lead to primary material?
- Are amounts and bases not merged into one figure?
- Is fact not presented as technical or legal conclusion?
What is known and what to verify
What to verify for the address
1. Begin with period, not conclusion
In first line, name asset, period, author and boundaries: which sources are included and through which date. A monthly report does not support events outside month merely because it looks complete.
If a source record belongs to another period, you may retain it as context, but not present it as a fresh fact.
2. Every figure and event lead to a source
A receipt, expense, work or message needs a primary record, date, asset link and limitation. An invoice does not automatically explain work quality; a message does not establish cause; a summary figure does not replace its components.
DJP publishes a rule about income from renting land and/or buildings and related payment lines. This is reason to keep amounts and bases separately for directed review, not tax instruction for selected case.

3. An open question matters more than false all clear
At the end of every line, keep not only status but next question: which record is needed, who provides it, which decision awaits owner and what cannot yet be stated.
A report becomes useful for the next period when an old question does not disappear but receives continuation or honest boundary.
4. A report must survive people change
Keep owner-accessible version with source material, date and author. When manager changes, separate old and new periods and transfer open tasks separately.
The new provider then does not receive a polished outcome without history and need not guess where each line came from.
